This product or service has not been approved or endorsed by any governmental agency, and this offer is not being made by an agency of the government. This site is not affiliated with the California State Controller’s Office. Owners may search and claim unclaimed property directly and for free at claimit.ca.gov or (800) 992-4647.
Information is provided as-is
Records are republished from the State Controller’s public database as reported by banks, companies and other holders. We do not verify them and the State makes no warranty either. Balances, owner names and claim status may be incomplete, out of date, or already claimed. Only the State Controller decides who is entitled to property, under Code of Civil Procedure §1540. A record appearing on this site is not a promise that any person will receive any payment.
No fee, no finder agreement
Searching this site and asking for help are free. We do not charge a fee to locate or recover property. California law (Code of Civil Procedure §1582) caps what any paid finder may charge at 10% of property recovered and makes any agreement void that requires payment before the State pays the owner. Using this site creates no such agreement.
Acceptable use
You may search for records about yourself, your family, your business, or people you are authorized to assist. You may not scrape the site, resell its output, or use it to harass anyone. Automated access is limited.
Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, the operator is not liable for any loss arising from reliance on information on this site. Your sole remedy for dissatisfaction is to stop using the site and to use the State’s own service.
